Culinary delights are particularly important at arcona Hotels and Resorts. That's why Managing Director Alexander Winter brought Christian Lohse on board as a culinary consultant in 2021. He refines the food concepts of the hotels, sharpens their gastronomic profile and organizes culinary events. The experienced chef works closely with the head chefs of the respective hotels and Managing Director Alexander Winter.
Vegetarian dishes have long been much more than a patchwork of side dishes. Christian Lohse proves just what is possible with his veggie menu in the "Kitchen.Bar", the restaurant at the Wyn Strandhotel. The focus is on first-class products and creative ideas, ideal for anyone who follows a vegetarian diet or simply wants to take a trip into vegetarian cuisine.
The veggie menu:

I. Crostini with thyme onions and parsley root
II. Leek vinaigrette with roasted fairground almonds
III. Veloute of nutmeg pumpkin with sage crusts
IV. Risotto Milanese

Cantonese cuisine is a matter close to Christian Lohse's heart - ever since he cooked alongside a Chinese chef at the legendary "The Dorchester" in London and coaxed his secrets out of him. In the "Kitchen.Bar", the restaurant of the Wyn Strandhotel, Christian Lohse celebrates his very own interpretation of Cantonese cuisine, based on regional spices and foods.

Awarded two Michelin stars for many years, Christian Lohse is one of the best and most versatile chefs in Germany. Under his management, the "Fischers Fritz" restaurant in the Regent Hotel on Berlin's Gendarmenmarkt was awarded two Michelin stars from 2007 to 2017. Prior to this, his restaurant "Windmühle", which opened in Bad Oeyenhausen in 1994, had already been awarded two stars.
Born in North Rhine-Westphalia, he trained as a chef in Dijon and deepened his knowledge in top restaurants in Paris and Tours. The Sultan of Brunei hired him as a private chef at the legendary "The Dorchester" in London. Christian Lohse has been a TV chef and judge on various cooking shows since 2013.
The Wyn Strandhotel Sylt is located behind the dunes, directly on the 40-kilometer-long west beach of Sylt. It is just a stone's throw away from lively Westerland and attracts not only beach vacationers but also the elite of windsurfers in the summer months. Throughout the year, the hotel attracts travelers of all ages and inclinations to the island for cycling, golfing, horse riding or walking. The 72-room hotel has a lot to offer not only outside, but also inside: One of the highlights is the indoor pool and saunas on the top floor with views of the North Sea and the coastal fringe of Westerland as far as the north of the island. Equally unique is the spa lounge on the 5th floor with its unique North Sea panorama. Guests can enjoy massages and a wide range of cosmetic treatments in two treatment rooms. In the evening, the spa area is transformed into an atmospheric night lounge where sundowners can be enjoyed to the sound of muted club music and occasionally live music. The hotel's own restaurant, Kitchen.Bar, treats hotel guests and external visitors to a daily changing evening menu inspired by surfing hotspots around the world. Directly behind the dune, the spacious sun terrace beckons in the summer months
