Rügen, 07.10.2022 - On Thursday, October 6, 2022, State Secretary Elisabeth Aßmann from the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas and the Environment visited the Vju Hotel Rügen. In office since May 2022, the politician got to know the UNESCO Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve, of which the arcona Hotels & Resorts hotel is a member of the partner network.

Rostock/Hinterstoder, 08.09.2022 - Back in April, the management of arcona announced that a new alpine jewel was being created in Hinterstoder: The disused Berghotel Hinterstoder is being developed into a 4-star resort with 61 rooms, suites and lodges. The 20 lodges are being built in the surrounding forest. From September 2022, Paul Schwaiger will be responsible for the new Triforêt alpin.resort as Pre-Opening Resort Manager.

Rostock / Mallorca, 30.05.2022 - Til Schweiger's barefoot concept is now also coming to Mallorca, the Germans' favorite island. The barefoot Hotel Mallorca in Portocolom, on the picturesque east coast of the Balearic island, will welcome its first guests on July 1. The operator of the 60-room hotel is the arcona Hotels & Resorts hotel group, which is already planning another barefoot hotel on Lake Tegernsee.

Officially, the boutique hotel turned 325 years old on February 17 this year, and now the Hotel Elephant Weimar is making up for the big celebration: On August 28, 2021 - also Goethe's 271st birthday - the whole day will shine in the light of the anniversary.
The event kicks off with a sumptuous brunch buffet, followed at 2.00 pm by the entertaining family reading "Kruzifünferl oder Wie man keine Geschichte schreibt" with author Hubert Schirneck. In the afternoon, the garden terrace provides a cozy setting for a coffee klatch with sweet delicacies. The festive day comes to a lively close: At 5 p.m., Sophie Grobler on the guitar accompanied by Marco de Vries provides "Summertime Feelings" at the jazz concert on the terrace. From 6 p.m., the hotel will treat guests to a delicious barbecue buffet.

.Even after the anniversary celebration, the centrally located Hotel Elephant will be the venue for a varied cultural program: on Sunday, 29 August, it will host a free lecture entitled "Quo Vadis Remembrance Culture?" followed by a discussion as part of the Weimar Art Festival from 5 to 6.30 pm. Professor Dr. Volkhard Knigge will talk with his guests about dealing with history that should not have happened. On Tuesday, August 31, the Buchenwald survivor and author Ivan Ivanji will read from his new novel "Corona in Buchenwald" from 6 p.m.

Founded in 2008, arcona Hotels & Resorts, based in Rostock, is a company specializing in the operation and development of hotels. As part of its reorientation towards the leisure and vacation hotel industry, arcona sold its city hotels at the beginning of 2019. The current seven hotels are located in established vacation destinations such as Rügen, Sylt and Kitzbühel. The well-known Hotel Elephant Weimar, the traditional Romantik Hotel auf der Wartburg and the Schloss Teschow golf club are also part of arcona's portfolio. Barefoot Hotels will be a new business segment in the future. In 2018, arcona signed a long-term contract with Barefoot founder Til Schweiger for the worldwide implementation of the concept as a licensee.
