Barefoot inventor Til Schweiger has loved Mallorca for many years. The actor and entrepreneur immediately fell in love with the hotel property right on the idyllic harbor of Portocolom: "The new barefoot hotel fits perfectly with my idea of a casual, laid-back hotel in a prime location," he says happily. Alexander Winter, Managing Partner of arcona, is also delighted with the new addition: "The hotel is for barefoot: furnished with attention to detail, located by the sea and on the Germans' favorite vacation island - a stroke of luck."
Portocolom in the east of the island has retained the original charm of a fishing village and is known for its picturesque harbor and excellent fish restaurants. All around, sandy bays beckon for a swim, while active guests can go hiking and cycling in the hinterland. In the midst of Mallorcan beauty and just a few steps from the sea, the newly built hotel is a gem and retreat that promises relaxation in a laid-back atmosphere and is also so well located that the lively vacation fun of the bustling coastal towns is within easy reach if the mood takes you.
The interior of the new barefoot hotel combines maximum comfort with relaxed luxury and Mallorcan flair. Natural materials and light color nuances bring summery lightness into the interior of the four-story building. The 60 generously proportioned rooms and suites are furnished in light natural tones and exude the serenity of a long summer's day. Eleven room categories - from comfortable double rooms and family rooms to luxurious suites with sea views, Jacuzzi and terrace - are available for guests to choose from. All rooms are individually air-conditioned. An absolute specialty are the bookable "private roof terraces with jacuzzi and sea view". Availability is controlled locally and can be booked individually.
The new barefoot hotel offers its guests a wide range of amenities without having to walk long distances. Those who don't want to head to the beach can cool off in the outdoor pool, browse on the sun terrace and enjoy refreshments at the bar. The spa with sauna, hammam and relaxation pools invites you to relax even on cooler days and offers a pampering program with massages and other wellness offers. The barefood restaurant is a casual place to dine and offers pure Mallorcan cuisine combined with "Til's favorite dishes", which focus on fresh products, preferably from the island. "Family style" - talking and enjoying each other at large tables is the best way to describe the casual, easy-going barefoot concept. Whether on the roof terrace, in the patio or in the restaurant with a view of the bay from midday to the evening, the barefoot restaurant is the communicative hub of the hotel.
The barefoot Hotel Mallorca is located directly on the bay of Portocolom with a view of the harbour and the sea through the pine trees that line the bay. The bay of Cala Marçal, with its fine sandy beach, is just a few minutes away from the hotel, diving enthusiasts can enjoy the nearby Skualo Adventure Sports Center and the famous Mondrago Natural Park can be reached by car in around 20 minutes. Air travelers can reach the hotel from Palma in just over three quarters of an hour.
The Barefoot Hotel Portocolom was built by MP4 PORTOCOLOM PROYECTOS HOTELEROS S.L., a project development company from Valencia. It has leased the hotel to arcona Hotels & Resorts on a long-term basis. The transaction was accompanied by Norbert Remer from the European Hotel Consulting Group in Alcudia.

The managing directors of Barefoothotels Lizenz- und Managementgesellschaft mbH, based in Rostock, are the two arcona shareholders Alexander Winter and Prof. Stephan Gerhard.
Tilman Valentin "Til" Schweiger was born in Freiburg im Breisgau in 1963. He successfully completed his acting training at the Cologne School of Theater. Today, Til Schweiger works internationally as an actor, director, screenwriter, producer, designer and film editor. In the 1990s, he became known for cinema films such as Manta, Manta, Der bewegte Mann and Knockin' on Heaven's Door. He went on to star in international film productions such as Inglourious Bastards and founded his own production company Barefoot Films. Films such as Keinohrhasen, Kokowääh and Honig im Kopf, in which he was director, producer and actor, were seen by millions of moviegoers, making him the most commercially successful German filmmaker. Til Schweiger's most recent projects are the film adaptation of Sarah Kuttner's bestseller "Kurt" and the film "Das Beste kommt noch", an adaptation of the French film "La meileur reste à venir", which has already been shot. In June of this year, the highly acclaimed shoot for "Manta Manta 2" will begin.
With his barefoot idea, he translates the casual lifestyle lived by him, his family and his friends. He was inspired by the uncomplicated attitude to life in the different places he has lived. With barefoot hotels, places are created for breathing a sigh of relief and pure relaxation, where the return to the essential things in life are celebrated with so much passion that an atmosphere is created that could hardly be more relaxed.
