Chef Johannes Wallner, who has been running the "AnnA" restaurant at Hotel Elephant since 2018, has designed the culinary events. "Over the last few months, I've collected lots of good ideas that are now ready for the big stage," he reveals. "The Lichtsaal is a wonderful place to get into conversation with each other and taste the kitchen team's creations and selected wines."

Anna-Maria Beckert, the hotel's newly appointed sommelier, is responsible for the wine selection. Wines from the local Saale-Unstrut region are among the favorites of Beckert, who herself comes from Weimar. "With the Hotel Elephant, we want to take on an ambassadorial role for winegrowers in the region," says the wine connoisseur happily. "We don't just focus on regionality for the food, but also for the wines - that goes down very well with our guests."

The culinary event series, which begins on October 6, is designed to make guests feel as comfortable as they would at a meal with friends: relaxed, cheerful and looked after with friendly service. To kick things off, Johannes Wallner and his team will be presenting seven cleverly coordinated

dishes on October 6 and 7.
